On August 2, 2023, a video conference meeting of the "Business Entry" working group of Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings of the
Republic of Azerbaijan supervised by the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy was held.
The event was attended by the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms, as well as representatives of the consulting companies within working group.
The completed questionnaire on the "Business Entry" indicator of the new "Business Ready" report presented by the World Bank and the detailed information on the evaluation results was discussed at the meeting.
Head of the Secretariat of the Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings, Head of the Economic Reforms Monitoring, Coordination and Evaluation Sector of the Department of Economic Policy and Industrial Affairs of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Vusal Shikhaliyev introduced information on the new "Business Ready" report submitted by the World Bank, the methodology applied during the assessment, and the questionnaire on the "Business Entry" indicator of the report.
Head of the working group, deputy head of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy Ms. Samira Musayeva introduced the detailed information on the issues arising from the questionnaire, the experience applied in the field of business registration in Azerbaijan, as well as the implemented reforms.
The members of the working group discussed the availabilty of relevant online services, integration with other state institutions in the registration process, issues related to the establishment of local LLCs, as well as founded by both foreign legal and natural persons, the impact of activities implemeted within “Business Entry” Road Map on the evaluation process, were discussed. Moreover, participants exchanged views on possibilities for objective evaluation of our country within the evaluation process.
During the meeting, the representative of "Azercell Telekom" Sevinj Novruzova offered to create a common database on national companies, to consider the possibilities of using this data when cooperating with counter-agents.
The meeting emphasized the need to intensify meetings with business associations.
