Another meeting of “Technology and innovations” working group has been held

On June 5th, “Technology and innovations” working group of the Commission on Business environment and international rankings held a meeting in an online format. Representatives from the governmental agencies that are the members of the working group participated in the meeting.

Vusal Shikhaliyev who is the head of the Secretariat of the Commission made an opening speech and noted the importance of improving the results of the country in the Global Innovation Index. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of the working group’s taking actions based on its direction of activities and of maintaining communications with the international organizations on this direction.

Samir Mammadov who is the head of the working group and the deputy minister of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport talked about the steps taken and measures being taken by the Ministry about the points mentioned. Information about mobile communications, internet services, support provided to startups, and also the education on programming and coding offered to students within the framework of “Technest” program and its successful results were provided. At the same time, specific steps taken by the Ministry to improve the results of the country in the E-Government Development Index were analyzed.

Afterwards, in accordance with the agenda of the meeting, reports on the actions taken by the working group in 2022 and targets set for 2023 were discussed by the representatives of the governmental agencies. Based on the information provided, relevant recommendations and decisions were made by the head of the Secretariat of the Commission.
