Another meeting of “Technology and innovations” working group has been held

On October 27th, “Technology and innovations” working group of the Commission on Business environment and international rankings held a meeting in an online format. Representatives from the governmental agencies that are the members of the working group participated in the meeting.

Vusal Shikhaliyev who is the head of the Secretariat of the Commission made an opening speech and gave information about the thematic meetings organized for the purpose of discussing the Global Innovation Index and emphasized the importance of defining concrete steps in this meeting. The head of the secretariat noted that the "Technology and innovations" working group covers about half of the indicators included in the Global Innovation Index. It is for this reason that measures that can be implemented before the end of the year should be treated with maximum care

Samir Mammadov who is the head of the working group and the deputy minister of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport raised the issues related to the measures implemented by the ministry, the changes made to the Matrix for improving the country's position in the Global Innovation Index, and the indicators evaluated as N/A in the Index report. The chairman noted that it is necessary to prepare the Action Plan in a short period of time and start taking actions as soon as possible.

Following that, in accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the details of the new draft of the Matrix prepared for the further improvement of the country's position in the Global Innovation Index, as well as the proposals of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport regarding e-participation were discussed. Based on the information provided, relevant recommendations and decisions were made by the head of the Secretariat of the Commission.
