Working Group on Effective Management and Macroeconomic Indicators of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings holds next meeting

The next meeting of the Working Group on Effective Management and Macroeconomic Indicators of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held on April 24, 2024 at 15:00 through online platform “Webex”.

Representatives from Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, State Oil Fund,  Ministry  Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Energy as well as “Ekvita” company participated in online meeting. The meeting participants discussed the actions taken during the first part of the year for the implementation of the action plan of the working group for 2023 and the work done in the 1st quarter of the year were discussed, and opinions were exchanged on the upcoming issues. Ensuring budget transparency, increasing debt sustainability, the burden of state regulation, debt dynamics, monetary freedom, the global Innovation Index, as well as the effective management of natural resources were the main topics of discussion at the meeting.

As a result of the meeting held in the format of a mutual discussion, a decision was made to carry out activities in the direction of raising the position of our country in international rankings, to optimize the burden of state regulation and to effectively manage natural resources in the next quarter. In addition, suggestions for increasing the effectiveness of the work to be done under the "Budget transparency" indicator were determined and it was decided to formulate and submit relevant proposals to the Commission for consideration.
